My favorite book of all time is any of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books because I used to read them a lot as a child. Everyone should read the Diary of a Wimpy Kid book series because it is an easy read and can easily relate to your own life if you are in around the same time of life that Greg Heffley is.
The thing that surprised me most in the reading is that someone in that time period, World War II and the Holocaust, from Germany would actually have the heart to help the Jewish people, since I had never learned about anyone like that before. That is my favorite part about the whole book because it shows that not every person from Germany back then did not have empathy for the Jews.
I am currently reading Schindler's List by Thomas Keneally. The book is about a man who tries to save a large amount of the Jewish population during World War II and the Holocaust. I'm really enjoying this book and since I've seen the movie, I am trying to find differences between the film and the book.
I personally enjoy reading, and I feel like I do not read enough. Reading allows me to basically go into my own personal bubble and filter out my problems, this is shared with other hobbies of mine like listening to music. I haven't always loved reading, and I started enjoying reading pretty close to present day. I did not enjoy reading in my elementary and most of my middle school years, just starting to like it in around eighth grade. My earliest reading memory was when my mother would read Room on the Broom by Julia Donaldson, those were good times. |
